Evert planned to spend 5 months in Australia, cycling 6,500 kilometers from Perth to Brisbane. Along the way, he intended to visit his cousins. So, he sold his house and, along with his friend Joop, trained hard to be in shape for this journey.

However, during this thorough preparation, he faced headwinds. Evert is awaiting surgery for his worn-out hip. Meanwhile, he has undergone eye surgery 5 times in the past year. Still, Evert continues to dream and train.
